Another gem of the Microregion Pogórze is the charming market square with the Town Hall in Zakliczyn. This masonry building, with a rectangular plan, is a true architectural treasure. Its Neoclassical style, enriched with a neo-Gothic element in the form of a portico at the entrance, will enchant everyone. The Town Hall is partially basemented and has spacious rooms arranged in three axes. In the center, there is a beautiful hall, and the eastern gable wall is adorned with a gallery and a clock tower. Its hipped roof adds charm to this place.

Over the years, the Town Hall has served various functions. It was the seat of the city authorities until 1934, and then served as a weapons warehouse during World War II. After the war, it was a meeting place for local authorities, and it also housed a shop and a cultural center. Even the Volunteer Fire Brigade was located in one of the rooms until 1997. Unfortunately, in March 2020, the Town Hall suffered a fire in the attic, but thanks to the Zakliczyn Cultural Center, which has been using this place since 1999, it has been renovated. Currently, besides the Cultural Center, the Town Hall houses an auditorium and a restaurant.

The Zakliczyn Town Hall is not only a valuable monument but also the central point of the market square. Its beginnings date back to the 19th century, and the current masonry building was recorded on the city plan from 1848. Over the years, the Town Hall has undergone various reconstructions, changing its purpose. Today, it is an important place for the Public Library and Regional Collections, a cafe, and an auditorium on the ground floor. The attic houses the headquarters of the Regional Tourism and Cultural Heritage Center, which welcomes tourists with open arms.

In 2022, the market square gained new splendor thanks to revitalization, preserving its charming character. The renovated square has also been equipped with small architecture objects - benches, planters, and informational boards.

With an area of over 1.7 hectares, the market square in Zakliczyn is the second-largest urban square in Małopolska after Krakow. It is an ideal place for meetings and relaxation!
