We invite you to visit the historic Pogórze windmill in Ryglice!
This impressive wooden structure was built in 1938 and served as a wind-powered mill. It was covered with wooden boards and had a two-sloped shingle roof. Interestingly, during World War II, the Germans prohibited the milling of grain into flour and sealed the millstone under the threat of execution. However, the brave owner would secretly swap the sealed millstone with an unsealed one, allowing the windmill to continue functioning until the 1950s.
Now, the windmill has been restored by its owners, who utilized all the original elements that were in a suitable technical condition.
While in Ryglice, make sure to see this unique monument—one of the few remaining windmills in the Pogórze Ciężkowickie region. The owner will gladly show you around the site.
The windmill is located in Ryglice, in the Pogórze Ciężkowickie region, at the northern foothills of the Brzanka Range.
There are many hiking and cycling trails nearby, making it an ideal place for an active weekend with the family. Enjoy the beautiful panorama, tranquility, and fresh air while relaxing in the Microregion Pogórze.
