The Basilica of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Tuchów is the oldest Marian sanctuary in the Diocese of Tarnów.

A great treasure of the basilica is the famous painting of the Tuchów Madonna, executed in the Renaissance style in the first half of the 16th century.

This pilgrimage site has been attracting faithful since 1597 and has been a minor basilica since 2010. The sanctuary is looked after by the Redemptorists, who reside in the monastery buildings next to the church.

The Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a baroque, single-nave temple with a chancel closed with a three-sided apse, which contains chapels. The first wooden temple in this place was built already at the end of the 11th century, thanks to the Benedictines from the Tyniec Abbey.

The most important event in the Tuchów sanctuary is the Great Tuchów Pilgrimage, which begins on July 2nd and lasts for 8 days, ending on July 9th.
